APPENDIX A
SURVEY INSTRUMENT

Internet User Profile Survey Instrument for research examining Internet motives, uses, and gratifications for Internet users.

This research is being conducted by Sharon A. Angleman, Arkansas State University Mass Communications Graduate Student, supervised by Dr. Gil Fowler, Arkansas State University, Fall 2000

Dear Participant,
Thank you for your time and effort in helping me complete this project. You are participating in research that is exploratory in nature, as data is still scarce in this area. It is important to gather information and perform analysis on issues surrounding new media, especially as it becomes more and more a part of our lives and our children's lives. Profound changes are occurring in everything from our method of banking to our method of socializing to our children's education. Your part in helping us understand this phenomena is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Sharon A. Anglerman

For those individuals interested in the findings of this research, feel free to request results from me after December 10, 2000 via my e-mail sharon@jrily.com.
