Back to the Beginning  Food For Thought   Quick Tour   New Poems

Random Thoughts

We've all had them at one time or another. Those fleeting moments of inspiration or insight, brief flashes or scattered random thoughts that come and go quickly through our consciousness. Many of the things I've written started out that way. A stray verse, a saying, or a line from a song I heard that sparked something inside me. I got in the habit of keeping a notebook where I would quickly write these bits and pieces down, then go back later to see if anything would come of them.

Sometimes they would grow into a complete poem and sometimes not, but I was always hesitant to discard them on the off chance that something might become of them. So that is the purpose for this page. Sort of a depository for "brain graffiti". I also invite you to add your own to the page. Your thoughts, bits of wisdom, general viewpoints on life, or whatever strikes you as interesting enough to share with others.

Please use this form to submit your thoughts and I will post them as soon as I can. Come back as often as you like to contribute more. And thank you again for visiting the cabin. Peace.

"The day will come when, after harnessing space, the winds, the tides and gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of Love. And on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, we shall have discovered Fire."

Only in the end you'll see
Just what your life was meant to be,
When all your childhood fantasies
are lost...within the mysteries
of time...

There is so much debate today about "sex education" in schools. But kids seem to have a pretty good grasp on that already. I'm wondering if they shouldn't consider "life education" instead. - Alan W. Goodson

Love isn't something you's something you do. - Alan W. Goodson

The faults and discretions of others are always right before our eyes, but our own, hide deceptively behind our backs!

Love is about giving, sharing and caring for another person, yet few people realise this. If love is selfish, why do we feel so incomplete on our own?

You know, life is a banquet...and so many people are starving to death

"When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the areas of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses, for art establishes the basic human truths which must serve as the touchstone of our judgment."

The hardest part of doing nothing is knowing when your done. So, always keep busy, for if there be just one idle moment you may be stuck in a cavern of nothingness for eternity.

I believe you will find that sometimes the wanting is more pleasurable than the having!

To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty;
To find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better,
Whether by a healthy child, a garden patch,
or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived
This is to have succeeded.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~

I envision... a world in which every human being has awakened to the knowledge that we are the 'Creative Force' in Human Form. When this awareness becomes  realized within all of us, Love is the result! Everyone will know then that  all of us are One Family, One Being and have One Purpose. Which is to share our abundance freely and love the Self We Are in Human Form...
Light... Love... and Laughter.

And after awhile you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much, So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.

An interesting place, this cabin of yours.  A place of peace and reflection.  I'll journey again to this door, and read once more the essence of your soul.  It is, after all, not very different from my own.

If we discover in the mirrors reflection that our face is dirty and begin to wash the mirror, we can scrub it for years, but it will not make a difference.

Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.

Long may you live, for love and life are both too short and the meaning of each experience far greater than one can simply imagine.

An "elephant" designed by committee is half giraffe and half chimpanzee.

Actually, the "learning curve" very much resembles one of those gerbil exercise wheels. It never stops spinning or squeaking.

"What greater thing is there for two human souls
than to feel that they are joined together
to strengthen each other in all labour,
to minister to each other in all sorrow,
to share with each other in all gladness,
to be one with each other
in the silent unspoken memories."

George Elliot

"Not all heroes walk in the glamour of the lights,
Not all angels have wings,
Love is the power that will open your eyes,
Love is the sight that lets you see these things."

Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
